Mariteam Nigeria Limited - Our client, an Oil and Gas Service Company desirous of rendering qualitative operation & maintenance (O&M) services for offshore units and platforms operating in the Oil and Gas industry in Nigeria requires qualified and suitable applicants for the position below:

Job Title: Electrician

Location: Nigeria

Job Description

• The Electrician will exhibit exemplary safety and supervisory skills in all matters pertaining to electrical maintenance works on and pertinent to the vessel.
• He is responsible for ensuring his subordinates are competent to carry out their allotted tasks and confirming and clarifying the status of electrical personnel, (whether UAE, CEP or EO etc.).

Roles/Responsibilities

• Maintain and adjust the condition of electrical assets (Systems, Equipment, UPS, Batteries, Generators Switchboards, Motors, Wiring, Portable toots etc.);
• Comply with relevant authorization procedures, safe working practices and specific instructions; Complete maintenance in an agreed time scale, using safe and appropriate methods and agreed procedures;
• Ensure resources and spares are planned for and seed cost effectively;
• Monitor and Assess the performance and condition of electrical assets; Monitor and Maintain Pollution Control Measures.

Experience/Competence

• Preferably qualified to at least HNC / HND, or NVQ Level 3 or recognized equivalent, in Electrical Maintenance Engineering;
• Minimum 5 years’ experience preferred, with 3 years offshore petrochemical experience desired;
• Excellent practical knowledge of PTW, Electrical Isolation Standards, Risk Assessment and Man Management, Power Management System, Generation on LV; COMP ex EX Course;
• Preferred courses achieved: HV Protection and HVLV Switching;
• Medically fit to offshore International standards such as ENG1 or equivalent;
• Ability to take Ownership of Electrical Power Generation and distribution systems; High standard of analytical, diagnostic, technical and professional knowledge, on electrical systems, components and procedures; Use standard Management System Office package electronic mail system and diagnostic software and equipment as required.
